Mind Mapping
- Mind maps are a diagram to organize and visualize information into a hierarchy to
show the relationships. Mind maps have to have a central idea, associations and
branches. The central idea is what your map is about. Whereas your associations
are things that branch out from the central idea. Mind maps great tools to use in the
classroom, they are a great way to ask students to express their ideas about the
topic that is being taught in class. They can be used before and after. Not only can
they be used in the classroom but the workplace as well, they can be used to
encourage collaboration and out of the box thinking in the workplace.
- When I was creating my mind map I just didn’t really know how to start the map, but
after I found a template that worked for me it was pretty easy to create the flow of
the map.
- I personally think that mind maps are great for students and extremely helpful for
them. I think this because it invites in collaboration among the students and helps
them connect to each other. I would incorporate mind maps in the beginning and
the end of new topics during the class.
